York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC), University of York, UK, is looking to recruit a full or part time Information Specialist and Senior Information Specialist to assist in a range of projects undertaken by a team of researchers. YHEC is a health economics contract research and consulting company owned by, and based at, the University of York. YHEC provides consultancy and research to a wide range of public and private sector bodies.
The posts involve developing and carrying out high quality literature searches and identifying data as part of a wider project team looking at health economics, effectiveness and other evidence. The projects will be commissioned by both public sector organisations and pharmaceutical/medical technology and food manufacturers. The primary purpose of the roles is to contribute to a wide range of projects involving the reviewing of quantitative data and effectiveness evidence. This will involve communication, negotiation, explanation and discussion within a project team context to ensure the search strategies developed by the information specialist answer the research questions and are appropriate to both the project budget and the project methodology. These roles will suit people who like to work co-operatively as an integral part of a project team. These roles offer opportunities for conducting research, contributing to research publications and presenting at meetings and conferences, as well as offering training.
