De professionalisering van de biomedische informatieprofessional is een van de pijlers van de BMI. De BMI biedt daarom zelf via de werkgroep CBN – Werkgroep Bij- & Nascholing, cursussen aan. Ook verzorgt de BMI een aantal verdiepingsdagen en sinds kort tracks op KNVI-dagen/congressen.
