Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are the gold-standard study design for evaluating the clinical effectiveness of an intervention. However, what happens if RCTs are unethical or unavailable? What other designs might we consider as evidence to underpin a review? In this webinar, we will provide a high-level overview of various study designs to inform clinical effectiveness reviews, discussing their particular strengths, limitations and appropriateness.
